In order to support the building of thousands of new homes around Canterbury, the City Council has drafted a local plan to build a Western Bypass route between Harbledown and Whitstable Road which residents fear will destroy local meadows.
A petition, No Western Bypass Through Our Valley, has been set up by local residents in order to object to the proposals and to date is nearing 2000 signatures.
