Canterbury District Green Party are thrilled to announce our candidate, Clare Turnbull, has been elected as Canterbury City Council’s first Green councillor in the Gorrell Ward by-election on Thursday 18th November.
Clare won a fantastic and hard-earned victory with 1149 votes, with Labour receiving 803 votes in second place.

This victory follows a steady and promising state of progress for CDGP, with our vote share seeing the largest increase out of all the major parties in Kent County Council elections since 2017.

These exciting results are proof that, with the support of our members, the Green Party holds fantastic potential to put Green voices in our local councils.
